There is no greater happiness than having you,

A poem on Katrina by Javed Akhtar

The popular Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif will soon have a poem devoted to her written by renowned lyrist Javed Akhtar.
The poem will be a song written for Katrina on the lines of her character in Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’.
Interestingly in the flick ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, Katrina plays a lead character of a free-spirited bohemian girl who inspires the three men in the film to follow their dreams. The three main lead in the film includes Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol.

Fan’s poem inspires Zoya
Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif’s angelic face had inspired one of her fans to pen a poem on her beauty and charm.
After reading the poem posted on the Internet, Zoya Akhtar, the director of the film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, came up with an idea to have a song specially written on Katrina’s character in the film. So, the filmmaker asked her dad, Javed Akhtar, to write a special song on Katrina.
“There was only a vague idea for such a song in Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara. But when the poem by Katrina’s fan surfaced on the net everyone felt the lyrics describing Katrina’s character beauty and zest for life was needed.” added insiders about the song on Katrina.
And now with the inspiring poem being penned by her fan, the actress is completely elated as she stated, “It’s flattering to have people write such wonderful lines for you. I can’t pretend to be unaffected by all the attention I’m getting. At the same time I can’t let it go to my head. There’s so much more to be done.”

Katrina demands friendship watch from Manoj

While flying back from Lucknow on Monday night after a Raajneeti promotional tour, Manoj Bajpai bought gifts for co-stars Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif and director Prakash Jha.

It all started when the in-flight shopping cart came around. Katrina admired a watch, and demanded that Manoj buy it for her. This made the others rib Bajpai about only buying presents for the lady. Ultimately he ended up buying gifts for everyone. He also picked up something for Ajay's daughter Nysa.

Manoj says, "It was nothing. I just bought a wristband for Nysa. It was shopping time for my co-actors who were demanding that I buy them gifts from the in-flight shopping."

Jha confirms, "First Manoj bought gifts for Katrina. So Ajay and I complained that why should we be left behind? Katrina liked a Friendship watch so he got up from his seat, and bought it for her. Ajay and I looked at each other and then Ajay asked for a gift too. It wasn't fair that only Katrina should get a gift. So the poor fellow ended up buying a Swarovski pen for Ajay and a Dolce & Gabbana perfume for me."

Flaunt it
Manoj says that his only condition for buying them the gifts was that they would all wear them all the time. He laughs, "Now Prakashji's office reeks of the DG perfume while Katrina promptly wore her colourful Friendship watch. Now I fear I will have to buy something for Ranbir, too, when we go to Delhi, as he wasn't there on this trip."

Manoj plays Ranbir Kapoor's elder brother in the film. He adds, "I am the eldest son of the family and power hungry. After my father, I inherit his power. My character is not based on any real-life politician. I sketched my character on my own as I always do. In Raajneeti everybody has a shade of grey except Katrina."

Katrina attends Just Chill singer's wedding

Bollywood’s lucky mascot Katrina Kaif is one of the most sought after stars in Bollywood, thanks to all the hard work she’s put in since her debut. And she does manage to strike the right balance between work and family affairs.

Katrina Kaif recently took time out from her busy schedule to attend Bina Kak’s daughter Amrita’s wedding in Jaipur. Amrita, who sung the hit song “Just Chill” from Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya recently got married on May 29, 2010.

Reveals a source close to the star, “Katrina was very excited to be part of the traditional Rajasthani wedding and even attended the mehendi ceremony. She is working around the clock on her films and brand endorsements but didn’t want to miss the celebration.”

Katrina was seen having a gala time at the wedding and even played mehendi artist as she was seen signing autographs on her fans’ hands with mehendi.

“Katrina had no starry airs and sat amidst her fans signing autographs on their hands in mehendi. She participated wholeheartedly in the celebration and then flew to Delhi for her professional commitments,” adds the source.

Katrina Kaif eyes success sans glamour

Katrina Kaif has been enjoying unbelievable run in Bollywood since 2007. Namastey London, Apne, Partner, Welcome, Race, Singh Is Kinng, New York, Blue, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and still counting. She was at first dubbed as a one-hit-film actress but she proved everyone wrong by belting out hit after hit. And this time around, she has entered a territory she hasn’t ventured so far through Raajneeti. The good news is she is likely to come out victorious.

This pretty girl surprised everyone by leaving her strength ‘glamour’ in Raajneeti where she acts with Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Ajay Devgn and Nana Patekar. She dared to tread the untreaded path. She not only took up the challenge of playing a politician but also dubbed her own voice, though she was hitherto known for her weakness in Hindi language. Her character in the film turned into a controversial topic but she is unperterbed. The risk and courage is likely to pay off in great dividend.

With Raajneeti getting rave reviews from critics, Katrina is on the verge of adding another feather on her cap. And she is turning a threat to actors who are ruling off beat cinema. Give way for this beauty with talent!

Katrina Kaif's acting in Raajneeti receives rave reviews

The gorgeous Katrina Kaif –one of Bollywood’s most sought after actresses has raised several eyebrows with her dignified performance in Prakash Jha ‘s Raajneeti. With Raajneeti, Katrina Kaif has ventured into new territory this time around and has come out victorious as per the reviews of the film.

Talking about her performance in Raajneeti says the acclaimed critic Taran Adarsh “Katrina Kaif is first-rate. The sincerity and earnestness shows in every sequence. She sheds her glam doll image and transforms into an actor with this film.”
Her role in the film has proved to be career defining for Katrina silencing her detractors and impressing audiences and critics alike.

A trade analyst says, “Katrina has often been synonymous with candy floss roles but with Raajneeti she is out to prove that she is here for the acting. In the film she plays a character whose life changes dramatically and she handles it well. Additionally her beauty doesn’t overshadow her performance”

Katrina Kaif who shed her glam doll image for the film took up the challenge of playing a politician and even dubbed for the dialogues herself.

“Katrina’s popularity is soaring by the day. Often topping polls of beauty and sex appeal, her contemporaries have much to worry about now since she just proved her acting prowess “adds the analyst.

Now I want Yash Chopra-type love story: Katrina Kaif (Interview)

She has scaled tremendous heights in her seven-year-old career, pushing the boundaries with her performance in “Raajneeti”, but guess what Katrina Kaif wants to do now? A typical Yash Chopra-type love story.

“There are a lot of sides to me that are yet to be tapped. After having done ‘Raajneeti’, it isn’t that I am going to do just female-oriented roles because the film has worked in my favour. I want to keep exploring and experimenting with characters and filmmakers,” Katrina told IANS on phone from Spain.
“In fact, right now, I would love to have a one boy-one girl Yashji type of love story in hand or, say, play a loud, boisterous girl - something on the lines of Hemaji’s role in ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’. Those are fun and interesting roles too. Why limit myself?” asked the 25-year-old.

She is basking in the success of Prakash Jha’s “Raajneeti” where she wowed the audiences as a young, madly-in-love girl who becomes a pawn in the game of politics. In the last 10 minutes of the film, she is seen playing a chief minister and manages to leave a strong impact on viewers.
So far the actress has managed to deliver hits. But Katrina is quick to counter the notion that she is a “formula” for filmmakers in search of a hit.
“I am no formula. It isn’t true that a film becomes a hit because of me. I always put a script above my own role. I always see a film in totality and not just on the basis of my role. The film comes first, the role comes second for me. It’s just that god has been very kind and my choices have mostly turned out be right,” said Katrina.
But doesn’t she fear failure after such bundles of success?
“I don’t get scared. It’s wrong if people say a hit is expected of me all the time. Of course, everyone fears failure, but for me there is no added pressure to succeed. It is up to the audience to accept or reject a film and I am happy my audience has supported me so far,” she said in a confident tone.
Currently shooting in Spain for Zoya Akhtar’s tentatively titled “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, which also features Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol, Katrina is also looking forward to the release of Farah Khan’s “Tees Maar Khan”.
In Farah’s film, she will be featured opposite Akshay Kumar, with whom she has doled out hits like “Namastey London”, “Welcome” and “Singh Is Kinng”.
After that, she is looking forward to stepping into the shoes of Priyanka Chopra for Karan Johar’s much-awaited sequel to “Dostana”.

Katrina Kaif Spices Up Spain

Bollywood belle Katrina Kaif exhumes her charm in Spain! The top Bollywood actress is currently in Barcelona shooting as the lead in Zoya Akhtar's next film. The project co-stars Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, and Kalki Koechlin. Katrina plays the role of a young, modern woman who loves sports and the former model needs to learn how to dive into the deep sea! It may sound easy but it's not!

Aside from her hectic schedule Katrina Kaif wants to explore Barcelona. The star plans to dine at one of the most exclusive restaurants in the city, El Bully, where reservations are made a year in advance. Even Europe's rich and famous have to wait for months before they can get reservations at this upscale restaurant.

Kat is however convinced that her B-town charm will get her into the popular restaurant. In fact, not only is she sure that she will get a table, but she is also convinced that the restaurant will give her the celeb treatment she is use to.

Before she left for the shoot Katrina spoke about her desire to dine at El Bully to the Times of India and said "Let me see yaar. It can't take that long. Itna bhi kya exclusive."

Well hopefully Kat's wish will be fulfilled!

Katrina Kaif to start film marketing firm

Bollywood beauties are not dumb, they have brains for business too. One of the leading Bollywood actresses has proved it. She is none other than Raajneeti girl, Katrina Kaif. She has revealed a very different side when it came to acting. Now, she is planning to launch her own business firm for the marketing of films.

Katrina Kaif, is busy shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi in Spain. She is missing the Mumbai rains as she loves the smell of the wet earth on a rainy day. Thereafter, she will leave for London to shoot for Dostana 2 with John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan.

However, Katrina is not just keeping herself content with a handful of films. She is very serious about starting a film marketing firm. In fact, she has started looking for an appropriate location for her office. She is on a look out for an office area located somewhere between Bandra and Andheri.

Speaking about this new business, Katrina said, “I am just waiting for the guidance of my friends and colleagues about the project. I want to start the marketing division as soon as possible. Film marketing will be a challenging job for me. It is very exciting and I am eager to know how strategies are made for selling the products to the audience as well as the market.”

Why this decision of movie marketing? The Bollywood queen said that her love for numbers has inspired her to take this up. According to her, she can easily remember the collection data of movies by heart. It helps her to know, which films are doing good business at the box office.

Katrina is planning to appoint experienced people for her firm, those who can help her. She is confident of bringing a ‘highly professional attitude’ to the business.

The lady is also very much aware of the importance of film marketing these days. She said a lot of movies are released every week in the theatres, which also include a good number of Hollywood movies. Marketing it properly is very important because it helps to bring in a good opening collection and make it stand out.

Katrina Kaif is a woman of perfection

Katrina is a woman of perfection:Barbie doll Katrina Kaif is a woman of perfection. For her speaking long political speeches in Hindi in Prakash Jha’s political drama “Raajneeti” was not an easy task.

During the dubbing she confused a word “Satta” (politics). Instead of saying the word “Satta” she pronounced “Satya” which means truth.
She happened to discover this error following the post production of the film. Katrina instantly requested Jha to help her rectify the mistake.
This shows that Kat is a perfectionist.

Katrina kaif: I want to be loved:

Katrina Kaif, dressed in a short black dress, cuddles up to myriad coloured cushions in her favourite corner in her home. As sunbeams light up her laptop, a script, cough medicine (she has this hacking cough and congestion) she is at her sunny best, smiling often as she gets introspective on love, lovers and relationships

• Are you single?

(Laughs) Laying no claim to being original I will repeat a statement that somebody came up with, which I believe in: You are single till you are married. I have seen a lot of relationships that are very transient. So till you take that vow, which in my belief should not be broken, you are single. I refuse to clarify anything, this is the way I have always been.

• Does this not amount to denying the person you are with?

That could have happened two or three years ago when the person I was with was far more successful than me. People could have misinterpreted my accepting or denying him then. I am not saying that I am right and somebody who talks openly about his/her relationship is wrong. Maybe if and when the time is right, I may say something. But perhaps the time is not right, right now.

• But then you face the risk of being linked to everyone you work with ...

First of all, ouch and secondly, I am a soft target because I don’t comment. In any case I have only been linked to Ranbir recently and I can only say that Ranbir had said in many interviews that he is single and not dating anyone. And I say I am single and am not dating anyone.

We have worked together in two films and I do believe that he is a nice person. He has a wonderful quality which is to make everyone laugh and bring a lot of happiness and joy on the sets. He is very talented and beyond that there is nothing more to dig into. And there is nothing less than that also.

• How important is it to be loved?

A lot. All my life I have judged my worth by how much I have been loved by a man. It’s so with a lot of women, that their self-esteem is measured by how much they are loved by a man, their partner, their boyfriend or may be their husband. In my case, it may be because I grew up without my father. But now that I am more mature and not 18 anymore, I have slowly learnt to overcome that and to understand that I have my own destiny and life.

That doesn’t mean relationships or people hold less value for me. People in my life mean more to me than even my career. I definitely want to settle down, get married and want everything else that a woman wants. But now I don’t judge me and my confidence, my happiness, and my peace by how much I am loved.

There some wonderful examples of single mothers who are bringing up their children on their own. I think they are doing a brilliant job. But in my life, if I can help it at all, I would never like to bring up a child without the father. I think it’s important for the child’s complete emotional stability.

• When have you been completely happy?

Total happiness ... umm ... I am not sure but I don’t think I ever have. I don’t think anybody can experience total happiness because it is human nature to want more. My life has always been very tumultuous and changed course very fast and very drastically and always very wonderfully. A lot of people feel that I am God’s special child and that I am privileged and I hope that continues. Till I was 16, I had lived in 18 or 19 countries. I don’t know where my peace and my contentment is going to lie. In my heart, something very very strongly tells me, I will not leave Mumbai, this is my home.

• And your saddest moment?

Sad can only be in the sense of being alone. That is the only thing that affects everybody, the sense of being alone and the sense of being misunderstood. It hurts me physically when somebody misunderstands an intention. I am highly emotional and sensitive. I react to people on a whim. When someone looks at me in a defensive way, I will right away build up this bulletproof impenetrable wall and I will become this very difficult person to deal with.

And if you look at me in a way that l feel complete openness from you, I will become like a baby and you can make me do whatever you want. I think the key with me is not to use force. When people try to demonstrate authority with me, for whatever reasons, I have a problem. With me, you should never try to demonstrate that you have the power and I have to obey you. If people are pleasant and nice then I will go miles for them.

• How far would you go for your relationship?

Real love is not so easy to give up. I can go pretty far, can stick on through a lot of bad times and fight through a lot of things. There is nothing like if someone does this, if someone does that, it’s over. I don’t think there are any tentative versions of a relationship, not if you love somebody.

• Are you the type that celebrates everything about a relationship, first date, first kiss and stuff like that?

I am very un-girly that way. It’s probably out of habit or maybe now it’s become a habit. I don’t like candlelight dinners, you don’t need to bring me roses, I don’t like holding hands and doing romantic things.

• You have a happy space in your car and you always say your home is your happy space. But shouldn’t the real one be in somebody’s arms?

It should and it will and when it is I will tell you but not the specifics. But important as companionship is, it is also very important not to live in fear. Not to make decisions out of fear. At the end of the day, it’s a very simple world, career means a lot but love and companionship is going to be with me forever.

Court refuses to grant stay on Raajneeti release

In a double reprieve to the Katrina Kaif-Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Raajneeti, two different judges of the Bombay High Court refused to entertain applications seeking a stay on release of the film.

Raajneeti is scheduled to be released on June 4.

One application sought a stay alleging copyright infringement of the script, while the second application claimed that the film defamed Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Yogendra Konkar claimed that he had sent a script to filmmmaker Prakash Jha.

His advocate Sanghani Krishnakant argued that the story of Raajneeti is similar to his client’s script.

Konkar had also sent his script to eight other filmmakers, including Pritish Nandy, argued Krishnakant.

Seeking an urgent stay on the film, Konkar argued that he had registered the script with the Indian Motion Pictures Association in March 2009.

Jha’s advocate, Ashish Kamat, argued that they had registered their script with the Association in December 2008 and the production began in January 2009. “So there is no way we could have copied his script,” argued Kamat.

Vacation judge Justice S.J. Kathawala said: “You will not find the story of any Hindi film which is not similar to another. You can’t claim relief on similarity ground [sic].”

Observing that “balance of convenience” lay in favour of Jha, Justice Kathawal refused to grant a stay on the film’s release.

“If you succeed, you will get your Rs 25 lakh. But what about his [Jha’s] loss? Are you willing to deposit Rs 5 crore with this court?” asked Justice Kathawala.

The second application was filed by Congress loyalist Naseem Khan who alleged that the movie defamed Sonia Gandhi.

Khan’s lawyer H. Holmagi said the film’s promotional clips were defaming Sonia Gandhi considering Kaif’s character is supposed to be based on the Congress president.

Justice R.G. Ketkar too refused to grant a stay on release of the movie.

Khan had moved the sessions court last week, and the matter will be heard there on June 2
